If you don't update your site on any regular basis but would like to alert your visitors when you do, try ChangeAlarm. Your users sign up and when you make a change to your web site, it sends them an automatic message. I have tested it out and it works really well and its FREE: http://www.changealarm.com/ - see below:

Want to summarize/advertise your Blog for your visitors? Use http://www.zoomclouds.com/ . It works with the RSS feed from your blog. (FREE)

Want to create a newsletter? Use http://www.yourmailinglistprovider.com/. Their light version (read "free" version) lets you do so! It allows you to collect subscribers and uses double opt in! Pretty cool!
